Pictures above show panels being coloured in the workshop. When panels are damaged to an extent beyond repair, we offer panel replacements. This is where a technician comes and collects the cover of the panel that is damaged. This is then taken to the workshop where leather is ordered in the closest possible colour to the cover. Once the leather order is received the damaged panel is removed and the new panel is sewn in.
Now that there is a new panel inserted to the cover the technician colour matches this to the rest of the cover. After completion we get back in contact with the customer and arrange a new date to return the cover. The technician then returns to the house and refits the cover to the sofa with its new panels.
Panels are recommended rather than attempting to repair large amounts of damage. This is because a new panel means new leather rather than trying to repair the damage which won’t last. If a technician was to repair large extents of damage once pressure is put on the repairs again it would only be a matter of time before the repair fails. This is because the products used to repair damage are not strong enough to hold a persons weight etc over large areas of damage.
